review of the richest man in Babylon

I have been hearing about the richest man In Babylon, for like ages and I can’t seem to place my finger on what makes it special. Every material that talks about making money and living in financial freedom can’t conclude without a mention of “the richest man In Babylon”

In a post I titled 7 Powerful Secrets of the Rich, I made sure I referenced the book and how it can help you in planning your financial life.

Last month, I made a resolution, to go get this book and see for myself, to know the mysteries that lie within this book. Many entrepreneurs regard this book as a Holy Grail. A Bible to every entrepreneur. If you haven’t read the richest man in Babylon, you’re considered to be living in a dark age.

I went to the nearest bookshop only to discover that it wasn’t in-stock. I was sad. I have to make an order which arrived later the next day. Truth be told, I was a little disappointed when I saw the book. I anticipated beholding an enormous book. It was just a mere 158 pages. However, it turned out to be the best book ever. The book is the true definition of small but mighty.

Another stunning discovery was the angle from which it was written. It was like a prose, written from the third person point of view, the all seeing being. It was different from similar books I have read in the past and I envied its uniqueness.

I wasted no time, I began to read. Have you read the King James version of the Christian Bible? That was the manner from which it was written.

You’ll find words like “thou” “thee” “alas” “thine” “thy” “doth” “shalt” etc. The literal devices used made it so poetic that I couldn’t get enough of it. The more I read, the more I want to devour its content. The diction is very easy for average readers to understand, especially if you’re focused. The magnitude of imagery and description was terrific and captivating. It made every line to flow without interruption or spilling off the wheel.

The first chapter was alluring. A lot of lines struck a chord, but the one that struck deeper was when Kobbi said,

“A man’s wealth is not in the purse he carries. A fat purse quickly empties if there be no golden stream to refile it.”

When we talk about wisdom, this book can be synonymous with its usage.

The richest man in Babylon

The richest man according to the book is no other but Arkad. According to the book, he was the richest and most wise. He exhibited his great wisdom, especially when the king plead for him to help install financial intelligence to the people. In the great hall of the Temple of Learning, that is where he stays, to teach a hundred how to make money produce more money. It was in this same hall that he taught them the “SEVEN CURES FOR A LEAN PURSE”

Why am I doing this review? It’s for you to go get this book. This is a book I can recommend to anyone cause it is practical and like a road map to wealth. I sincerely lack the words to paint how awesome this book is. If there be a book you must read, it must be the “richest man In Babylon”
