To enjoy some privacy, you want to hide online in GB WhatsApp while chatting. Unlike the official WhatsApp, GBWhatsApp provides additional privacy options, including hiding online status, last seen, typing status, and more.
These features block users from knowing when you’re online, and they think you’re offline. The official WhatsApp won’t let you hide your online status. At most, you can only hide your last seen, which will still appear as “Online” when you are online.
GBWhatsApp is a mod version of the official WhatsApp, therefore, it is not the original WhatsApp you download from stores like Google Play and the Apple App store.
How to hide online in GB WhatsApp while chatting
GBWhatsApp privacy settings offer numerous features you’d never find on the official WhatsApp. And one such is hiding your online, which this publication explains how to. Follow the steps below to hide your GBWhatsApp online while chatting:
1. Hiding online status
With GBWhatsApp, you can hide your online status from your contacts. You don’t have to disable the online status of your contact to use this feature while chatting. Follow the steps below:
- Tap the three dots on the top of your screen.
- Click the GB Settings option.
- Tap the Privacy and Security.
- Enable Hide Online Status to disable your online status from contacts.
With the steps above, none of your WhatsApp contacts can tell if you are active while replying to other people.
2. Freeze last seen
Disabling your online status is not enough on GBWhatsApp. You also want to freeze your last seen. This will make your WhatsApp contacts think you haven’t been online for a long time.
For instance, if you freeze your last seen at 12:00 pm, your last seen will be appearing as 12:00 pm to your contacts.
To freeze your last seen on GBWhatsApp, do the following:
- Click the three dots on the top right corner of your screen.
- Go to the settings option.
- Click Privacy and security.
- Enable Freeze Last Seen to hide your last seen.
Even when you’re online, your contacts will not know, so not only are you hiding your online status while chatting, but you also prevent contacts from knowing the last time you were online.
3. Disable double tick, blue tick, and typing status
GBWhatsApp allows users to hide features like the double tick, blue tick, and typing status. So, if you disable your online and last seen but not all these three options, your WhatsApp contacts will know when you receive, read, or currently typing a message accidentally if you don’t want to reply to them.
a. Double tick
The double tick on WhatsApp shows that you received the message. So, if you’re online, the double check means you’ve received a message, thus, your contact knows you’ve recently been online even if your online status is hidden while chatting.

The solution is to disable this feature to keep your contact in the dark about whether you’re online and received their message or not.
b. Blue tick
Unlike the double tick, the blue tick means you’ve read a message. You don’t want your WhatsApp contact to know that you read a message, so disable this feature to fully keep you offline while chatting with others.
c. Typing status
While typing a message to someone when online on WhatsApp, a typing notification is displayed to the recipient. If you don’t want your contacts to see this message, GBWhatsApp lets you hide it too to complement the hidden online status.
Do the following to disable all the 3 features mentioned above:
- Click the three dots at the top of your screen.
- Tap GB Settings.
- Go to the privacy and security and tap Contacts for all contacts and Groups for group settings.
- From the box, tap the 3 options mentioned above to disable them.
- Restart GBWhatsApp.
Once you restart GBWhatsApp, your selections are initiated instantly. Other users will no longer see when you’ve received a message, read a message or when you’re typing a new message to send to them.
Is GBWhatsApp safe for your phone?
This website can’t confirm whether GBWhatsApp is safe. As such, you would be using it at your own risk because GBWhatsApp is not the official app, rather, it is a mod (modified) version of the official WhatsApp.

Usually, GBWhatsApp is downloaded from sites like gbwa.xyz. Note that we do not have any affiliation with this website, and can’t confirm if their WhatsApp apk is virus-free.
Also, to use GBWhatsApp on iPhone, you have to jailbreak it. This is not advisable as you could be permanently damaging your iPhone. Android users can widely download the apk online but it is not advisable to install and use it—you could be exposing your private information and data to web scrapers.
The official WhatsApp version may not have the features that GBWhatsApp has, such as hiding your online status. However, it is safer to use the official version. If you don’t want a particular contact to know what you’re doing, you could always delete their contact from your phone temporarily. Nonetheless, you can’t stop them from seeing you online or knowing when you receive or read messages if you use the official WhatsApp.
The point is: be careful if you decide to use mod WhatsApp like GBWhatsApp.
